OUR MISSION
The Yale School of Management Education Leadership Conference exists to create a forum for leaders in education reform. We seek to create a constructive dialogue about how leadership skills applied to the education sector can be used to solve the most pressing and complex challenges in public education.

ABOUT: YALE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT EDUCATION LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
From its modest beginnings in 2007, The Yale School of Management Education Leadership Conference has grown to be a nationally recognized forum for education reform. The ELC is an annual two-day conference focused on convening the nation’s leaders in education reform. Through panels, networking, conversations, and workshops, our speakers, attendees, presenters, and keynotes create a community that helps build urgency in working toward student success and system-wide progress.

The ELC is sponsored and run by the Yale School of Management Education Club. Each year, 20+ Yale School of Management students work from early in the school year to conceptualize, plan, and realize the spring conference. The 2019 conference will mark our 13th anniversary.

Talya Zemach-Bersin

Post-Doctoral Fellow in Education Studies
Talya Zemach-Bersin teaches Advanced Topics in Education Studies, the fall seminar to senior Education Studies Scholars. Her teaching and research bridges domestic and international histories and explores the relationship between education and foreign relations. She received her PhD in American Studies from Yale University in 2015 and her BA from Wesleyan University. She is currently working on her first monograph, Education and the Making of American Globalism: 1898-1950, forthcoming from Harvard University Press. Her research has been supported by the New York University’s Center for the United States and the Cold War, the Council on International Educational Exchange, and the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations. For excellence in teaching, she was awarded the Yale University Prize Teaching Fellowship. In addition, her dissertation was awarded the Yale University John Addison Porter Prize and the History of Education Society’s Claude A. Eggertsen Dissertation Prize. Zemach-Bersin has published several articles and book chapters on international education, including “Selling the World: Study Abroad Marketing and the Privatization of Global Citizenship” in the Handbook of Practice and Research in Study Abroad, and “Entitled to the World: The Rhetoric of U.S. Global Citizenship Education,” in Postcolonial Perspectives of Global Citizenship Education. She lives in New Haven with her partner and their dog, Frankie.
